In the wake of President Obama’s controversial decision to cut taxes for 95% of all Americans, 500 raucous protesters took to the streets of San Francisco yesterday to denounce…unfair taxes. One livid Tiburon couple went so far as to suggest the President’s impeachment, assailing his alleged attempt to “transcend the boundaries of presidential powers.” The rich irony of their statement following eight years of rampant presidential constitution-shredding was apparently lost on them. So, too, was the apparent disconnect between the protesters’ outrage and reality.

The BayPress project took a major step forward today with the launch of its new online headquarters. The new site will allow citizen members and the editorial staff of all 11 participating newspapers a place to exchange ideas, participate in real-time Web meetings, schedule appointments, review original source materials and collaborate on a wide array of projects.

Nothing like paying more and getting less:
Starting at 7pm tonight, the Bay Area Rapid Transit District will cut its service by 25% during non-peak periods (ie, most of the time). This compares unfavorably to AC Transit’s 15% service cut, and was not accompanied by a public input process like the one AC Transit has undertaken in recent weeks. (Full story)
